• Alpine Garden Society: East Kent Local Group
  The AGS was founded in 1929 with the aim of promoting an interest in all aspects of alpine plants, their cultivation in rock gardens and plant conservation in their natural habitats. We are one of the largest specialist garden societies in the world.
• BBC Gardening
  Wide-ranging and useful. Also has links to BBC TV and radio gardening goodies.
• Chelsea Physic Garden
  A centre of education, beauty and relaxation, the Chelsea Physic Garden was founded by the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries of London in 1673 for its apprentices to study the medicinal qualities of plants.
• Garden History Society
  The GHS is the oldest society in the world dedicated to the conservation and study of historic designed gardens and landscapes. We have helped save or conserve scores of important gardens since we were founded in 1966.
• Garden Organic
  Garden Organic, the UK's leading organic growing charity, has been at the forefront of the organic horticulture movement for 50 years and is dedicated to researching and promoting organic gardening, farming and food.
• Kent Federation of Horticultural Societies
  The Federation, formed in 1938, was originally based on societies from Kent. Since 2001 several societies from East Sussex and Surrey have been welcomed, bringing our membership to around 200 affiliated societies, clubs and organisations.
• Kent Gardens Trust
  The primary purpose of the Kent Gardens Trust is the protection of gardens in Kent.
• Kew
  Kew is still first and foremost a scientific institution. With its collections of living and preserved plants, of plant products and botanical information, it forms an encyclopaedia of knowledge about the plant kingdom.
• NGS (National Gardens Scheme)
  Every year NGS gardens across England and Wales welcome over half a million visitors. Most gardens which open for the NGS are privately owned and open just a few times each year. Some gardens open as part of a group with the whole community involved.
• NVS (National Vegetable Society)
  The National Vegetable Society NVS is a registered charity dedicated to advancing the culture, study and improvement of vegetables offering help and advice to novice and expert show grower alike.
• Physic Garden of the Worshipful Company of Barber-Surgeons
  The Company wanted to present a broad view of the way in which plants have been used from the earliest times to the present day in the practice of medicine and surgery. The garden open to the public and is approached from Wood Street via St. Giles Church.
• RHS (Royal Horticultural Society)
  The RHS is the UK's leading gardening charity dedicated to advancing horticulture and promoting good gardening. Our goal is to help people share a passion for plants, to encourage excellence in horticulture and inspire those with an interest in gardening.
• Woodland Trust
  We want to see a country rich in native woods and trees enjoyed and valued by everyone. Aims: work with others to plant more native trees; protect native woods, trees and their wildlife for the future; and inspire all to enjoy and value woods and trees.
