Crocus Planting Memorial Park Weds 9th November 2011
Children from Herne Bay Infants School will again be planting crocus in Herne Bay Memorial Park at 1.30pm on Wednesday 9th November. This will be the sixth year that this event has taken place. The avenue leading up to the War Memorial benefits from the colourful display of these harbingers of Spring in February and March each year thanks to the generous sponsorship of Canterbury City Council's Outdoor Leisure Dept who supply the crocus corms. It is hoped that a British Legion representative will be in attendance to add extra meaning to the proceedings.

Can I take this opportunity to thank you for your invite on the 9th November, It is very important that we continue to bring to the attention of our young children the purpose for the events on the 11th and 13th and your organisation in way out in front in the planting event.
Harry Keys our Standard Bearer, Bill Taylor Parde Marshal and myself the Herne Bay Branch Chair person and Poppy appeal co-ordernator.
We had a wonderful morning, to see and hear those young people doing something that creats a memory in all those that were there was very special.
