Great public speaking

Just when you thought the world was going to Hell in a handcart, here's an excellent four minutes' worth of 24 carat common sense, out loud, and in public. Enjoy.

This is from the recent KIACC meeting. If you want to see and hear more good stuff like this, come to the No Night Flights meeting on Friday 25th November, at 7pm in Chatham House School in Chatham Street, Ramsgate.

Excellent. A very perceptive response to the guesswork and vague half truths promoted by the supporters of night flights.

What an excellent, succinct and direct set of questions from a lady asking the real questions we all have, and not the heartstring tugging agenda Buchanan and Co would have us all believe.

Following her piece was there any evidence to show whether a) the panel were listening, b) they were taking it on board, or c) that they would address her issues and report back?

Who is that rushing you to finish? It was strange at that meeting as many men in the audience were allowed to bore with their incomprehensible assumptive monologues.

Was there a strategy to allow them to talk to expose their 'faultful' heroic 'silly-oquys'? Still, women are used to being interrupted: I have the same problem with Mr Gabriel. So I'd better shut up. Let's hope that tonight the Buchford Manstboys show some respect.

Less of the gender politics Mrs G. I wholeheartedly support the landing of "Thunderbirds" all over the South East at any time of night, bugger the health, environmental, negative economic impact and safety consequences!

C'mon Purple-Ronnie, ........ "as I have discovered myself, there are no disasters, only opportunities. And, indeed, opportunities for fresh disasters."

Having watched the very articulate lady on the video clip link the night flight proposals with job opportunities and why does Manston need night flights to prosper? I can only fully agree with her.

It was more than interesting to note that the company commissioned by Manston to produce the economic survey and report may have been somewhat biased. Will we the general public get to see this report such that we may be allowed to comment??

The fact that there is even a slight possibility that the economic report can be skewed toward Manston's favour can only lend weight to the absolute need for an Environmental Impact Assessment and the full involvement of the Environment Agency (EA). The EA being an entirely INDEPENDENT agency who must also report into the public domain.

Well, Manston's economic report was written by York Aviation. They also wrote the report for Lydd when Lydd Airport sought to expand. Spookily enough, York Aviation told the Lydd locals that the extension of the runway would create 3,000 jobs. When questioned closely on this at the Public Inquiry by people rude enough to want to see some evidence, they downgraded that rather dramatically to about 250 jobs. Do I detect a theme? Wasn't it on this very site that I saw the phrase coined "the porkies from Yorkies"?
