Enough is enough

We are completely against the proposed development. We have already been lumbered with the estate at Hillborough which has seen too much traffic in Beltinge (VILLAGE) and along Bishopstone Lane - dog-walkers going to the cliffs, so we don't want any more.

When we moved here 14 years ago there was a quiet village existence but not now. There is no infrastructure - schools, sewage works, bus service and a further 1,300 properties (and 1,300+ cars) will need all this, and possibly another doctor's surgery (we can't get in to see a doctor now).

I don't suppose our comments will make the slightest difference as once this crappy council has made up its mind it will go ahead. What's next - building behind the surgery along Bishopstone Lane???

See you at the meeting

i know what you mean about how its changed, in the last 20 years i remember them building not only:
1.the massive estates at hillborough and the estate near the harvester but also
2.the large one on the other side of the thanet way,
3.the new priest fields road in bishopstone glen,
4. quite a number of houses at the end of highfilelds ave, new houses at the end of conyngham road and glenbervie drive,
5.large expansion of the miramar nursing home with hundreds of people living there now,
6. a new estate built creating ashbee gardens

all that in just about 20-25 years. im guessing beltinge must have easily doubled its population or perhaps alot more.
and the main road is exactly the same in beltinge with just the pedestrian crossing added in recent years (which i dont often see people use as theyve put it in the wrong place).
traffic just seems to be continuous and obstructed with parking everywhere in the main beltinge roads and like you say more people everywhere else.
